We had such a great time in Savannah. It was so nice to have time to relax and enjoy our new married life. Here is just a little peak at some of the things we did.
First, we crossed over the Talmadge Memorial Bridge. Tyler was driving and he was scared to death. He hates heights.
We did quite a few things during our visit here. One thing we did to introduce ourselves to this beautiful city was to take a horse and carriage ride. We had a guide that gave us a brief history of the city.
We ate at a couple of places... but here is Molly MacPhersons. The food was great and the service was too.
We saw many beautiful homes. The city itself is set up in a series of squares, which are like little parks. It's such a walking friendly little city and there was so much to see.
Here is Forsythe Park. We spent quite a bit of time just admiring its stunning fountain, garden and surrounding homes.
Here we are sitting outside the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. This church was so stunning. It was impossible to capture how gorgeous it was in person.
Here is Tyler outside of Colonial Park Cemetary. During the Civil War, Northern soldiers occupied this area and changed/altered many of the grave stones here. We took a picture of a stone where the child was older than their dad.
Here is Independent Presbyterian Church. This is the famous steeple where the white feather from the movie Forrest Gump was dropped.
Finally, we visited the famous Mercer Home. Here is where the famous story from the novel Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil took place. It was really cool to see and be in the rooms we saw in the movie and where the actual shooting took place.
We really enjoyed our mini-moon in Savannah. I think it might be a yearly anniversary trip for us. I can't wait to go back!
